Saddle
About

Independent by design.

Saddle is a solo practice for businesses that want a custom AI system without handing control to a black box or a permanent agency dependency.

Color-field desert with a lone saguaro
Solo practice / practical implementation

The person who recommends the system builds it.

Saddle is run by Jacob Burress. He has spent sixteen years turning creative and operational problems into working systems for startups, agencies, and multinational companies. His work sits between people, technology, and the messy process that usually connects them.

That range matters in AI work. A technically impressive build can still fail because nobody owns it, the source material is weak, or the review burden is larger than the task it replaced. Jacob stays with the work from the first conversation through implementation and hand-off.

How we work

The boundaries are part of the product.

Scope before implementation

Every engagement starts with a written scope that names the problem, the owner, and the acceptance cases.

Tools follow the work

Saddle does not sell a preferred model or platform. The technical choice has to fit the business and its maintenance capacity.

Hand-off begins on day one

We plan documentation and portability throughout the build. Both begin with the written scope.

Say when AI is wrong

Some problems need clearer ownership, better source material, or ordinary software. The Audit makes room for that answer.

What we turn down

Some systems should stay unbuilt.

Saddle does not produce broad AI strategy with no operating problem attached. We also avoid custom work that creates more review and maintenance than it removes.

A specific problem is enough to begin. The first job is deciding whether it deserves a system.
